A Drake with a proper tank is perfectly fine for level 4's. It won't do them fast, but it will do them, and you don't need friends to help you. Tengu is probably the fastest way to do a level 4, but is the least cost-effective.

The biggest disadvantage of fighting at range is the inability to point. If others in your gang can do this, you mitigate that disadvantage and heavy missiles will work fine, albeit at a lower DPS.
